Art in the landscape

A cathedral made up of 178 Italian poplars, waves of grass, a sea level in the landscape… There is no other place in the world with this concentration of Land Art as Flevoland; five examples  are hidden in the countryside, constructed in the open air using soil, water, and sand. In Almere Hout is the Reims cathedral built from trees: De Groene Kathedraal (green cathedral). According to artist Marinus Boezem, a city without history needs a cathedral. In Zeewolde, see how high the water could be if Zeewolde were flooded. Sea Level by Richard Serra is a wall in the countryside, the upper half of which is equal to the sea level. And Aardzee near Zeewolde by Piet Slegers provides an idea of the differences in levels and the slopes and wrinkles in the old seabed. Polderland Garden of Love and Fire by Daniel Libeskind and Observatorium by Robert Morris are certainly worth viewing up close.
