Emmeloord

Emmeloord is the central town of the Noordoostpolder, and home to the bulk of
its facilities. The 65-metre tall Polder Tower is right at the centre of the
Noordoostpolder and dates back to 1958. This tower is the best viewing point of
Emmeloord, and when the weather is good, you can also see the surrounding area.
The bell tower contains 48 bell clocks, and this carillon rings out over
Emmeloord regularly. The newly renovated centre of town has a good variety of
shops and a few friendly outdoor cafés. Emmeloord can be easily by reached by
bus or car, and is on the A6 motorway. Water sports aficionados are well served
in Emmeloord, with mooring places for boats at walking distance from the centre
of town.
